Lakeside, Pokhara

After spending the past six months in India, my memories are filled with so many experiences that I will think about fondly for a lifetime. In the past 5 days, I had a long five days of travel that started by walking down a mountain village from Tosh to long and uncomfortable bus rides, a rough train ride, walking in hot and humid temperatures, and finally arriving to my destination at 3:30 in the morning without yet having a place to stay and haven't slept for the last two days. While it all sounds like a terrible experience, I embrace it all as this is the life I have chosen and I have never felt so free and open to so much in life. I've met many great people along the way and faced challenges which help me grow and see the world outside of what I had previously known. Today, I arrived in Pokhara, Nepal and feel refreshed being in this new environment. Here, I am seeing more foreign travelers, living conditions are much closer to what I am accustomed to back home, and there are even coffee shops and supermarkets here!! After finding a place to stay this early morning, and getting a much needed nap, I enjoyed a nice healthy lunch, walked around getting groceries from the markets, and also visited some herb shops where I found cordyceps, a fungi that grows inside a catapillar in the Himalayas and is most well known for improving physical performance and energy. Although I don't know what's ahead, I'm excited and look forward to whatever may come.
