These days, my time is often spent in this beautiful garden where I have the opportunity to learn from the variety of work that I do here. Harvesting blue pea flowers (for tea), making coffee from freshly picked berries, preparing beds for new seedlings, and regenerating new soil through composting techniques I've learned here are just some of the many daily tasks. While the work in itself can be both laborious and enjoyable, it is especially rewarding to see our organic vegetables in the meals served to guests as well as visitors who come to the shop for fresh produce. A couple days ago, we received a nice surprise as a local school came for a visit and our garden was filled with children having a tour and learning about how our food is grown. It's been quite a change of pace since arriving to Samata and so grateful for being here.
